1. When you first enter the Accounting Periods option a Select An Option window will appear:
Select ADD NEXT YEAR.
2. A Select A Period Type window will appear. Scroll to the period type you would like to use: calendar year, or one of the three fiscal year formats--445, 454, 544. The "445", "454", and "544" formats allow you to designate fiscal quarters which contain all thirteen weeks. The system will default to the settings you have defined in Ledger Options.
3. Command options will appear:
Select Update. The accounting period is now added.
Important: The accounting year will not be added unless you select Update.
Note: When you create your initial accounting year you will be asked to enter the ending date of your last fiscal year.
Example: Select a 445 format if you want a 13 week fiscal quarter with the 3rd month of the quarter being five weeks long.
Note: You may change accounting periods or change period type before Update has been entered. From the command options, select Change Dates to change accounting period dates; select Change Period Type to change period type.
